So you guys, I am a HUGE fan of brownies and blondies and just trying new variations of the two. You can easily add anything to them, nuts, candy, cookies, dried fruit; really anything you like. So of course I had to make one that resembled an all time favourite of mine, Banana Bread. I mean who doesn’t love a good slice of banana bread and when it’s warm, look out I can not wait to cut into it and devour.

So it made sense to make Banana Chocolate Chip Blondies. They are full of banana flavour and of course I loaded it with chocolate chips (a must), to get a gooey almost fudge like texture. It literally just melts in your mouth. Don’t take my work for it you have to make it to see for yourself, they are simple and easy to make.

What You Need To Make These Banana Chocolate Chip Blondies

A lot of what you need you probably already have in your pantry and some of you already have ripe bananas, so might as well use them up and make these blondies.

  • Unsalted butter-melted
  • Brown and White Sugar
  • Egg-just one in here
  • Banana- one large really ripe banana, mashed
  • Oil- any neutral oil will do for moisture
  • Vanilla- for flavour
  • Salt- to offset the sweet
  • Flour- all-purpose
  • Semi-sweet Chocolate Chips- a must not optional (LOL)!

Bananas Aren’t Ripe

So you have bananas but they aren’t ripe, no problem, just place them on a baking sheet and put it in the oven for 35-40 mins. at 300°F. They will ripen and become sweet and perfect for your baking needs.

  • They are soft, moist, and chewy. Literally will melt in your mouth.
  • This is the perfect afternoon snack and even a great breakfast option; REALLY THE BEST!
  • They are quick and easy to make.
  • Perfect way to use up those ripe bananas you have.

How Do I Store These Banana Chocolate Chip Blondies?

These blondies keep well on the counter in an airtight container for up to 3 days or in the frige for up to a week.

You can also slice and freeze them for up to 2 months. Layer them in airtight container and place parchment paper in between the layers so they don’t stick to each. Then just thaw them in the fridge overnight and bring them to room temperature before serving.

You can also warm them up in the microwave for a few seconds for a warm gooey blondie.

Notes

These blondies keep well on counter in air tight container for 3 days on in fridge for a week.
You can also freeze for up to 2 months.
You can add walnuts or any nut you’d like to this recipe and you can also omit chocolate chips.
Be sure not to over bake, the residual heat carries over and continues to bake blondies while they cool.  I tend to take mine out at 30 mins, for a gooey center.
